Use a Skid Steer and Harley Rake to Grind Ice Pack

Recently, we took a video of a 7’ Harley Rake on a Kubota Tractor Corporation SSV75 skid steer. Commonly used for smoothing out driveways or reconditioning lawns during the spring, summer and fall seasons, we’ve begun using it for winter applications. Due to the rakes ability to bring the existing sand to the surface, we have found it to be very effective at breaking up thick ice on hard pack driveways.

The Harley rake has a tooth pattern on the drum that will create a textured surface with traction after the area re-freezes, reducing the amount of sand to maintain and make hard pack driveways safe during the winter months. If you are a contractor and have been considering purchasing a Harley Rake, but thought it would only be a three season implement, now you can use it all year round.

Is This Your First Time Buying a Tractor? We Can Help

At our Open House in April, we hosted a Kubota Field Day Ride and Drive Event. For folks who were new to tractors, it was a great opportunity to hop on and try one out. A big thank you to Kayleigh for being our first rider. This was her first time on a Kubota tractor and she did an awesome job! If you've never been on a tractor, but are interested in learning more about what a Kubota tractor can do for you and your property, come and see us at either of our stores. We'll be happy to take the time to show you how it all works and walk you through what models and options are the best match for the work you want to accomplish.

It’s Field Mowing Season Part Two

A few weeks back we posted about the features, advantages and disadvantages of both rotary and flail mowers in field mowing applications. Spencer, part of our sales team, took some time to put together a video explaining some of these details through a visual comparison of the two different mower types. We hope this is helpful, especially for those who might not be as familiar with rotary mowers and flail mowers and the differences between the two.
